seriously think that generation gap really exist and it's getting more n more prevalant these days of my life. this phase, 19 on going 20, is where i experience n see them for myself. just that day, my colleague, pei lin(she's 21years old) had problem converting metre sq to sq ft! so being a helpful fella, i voluntereed to ask my dad for her...
me : daddy, one metre is how many ft?
dad : u donno mer?
me : i donno, that's y i'm asking.
dad : ur sch didn't teach u?
me : NO!!!
then we started to ask the other 2 colleagues who were in the office at that time, ms. loh (mid 20s) and mr. ng (early 30s).
pei lin : hey, how to convert metre sq to sq ft?
ms. loh : i also not very sure, didn't learn before.
me : yea, me too!
mr. ng : huh? u all sure u didn't learn before? which sch u gals went to?
pei lin : my teacher didnt teach me wat...
ms. loh : think different generation, that's y!
me : u tell me la, which level in sch u learned that? i studied till form6, don't hv also!
(fyi, 3 of us excluding pei lin been thru form6)
mr. ng : eeerrrrrr...
pei lin : aiyo, must be the......
me & pei lin : GENERATION GAP!!!! *burst out laughing*
(both of us seriously mentioned it simultaneously! haha..)
at the end of it, three of us, pei lin, ms. loh & myself , managed to figure it out by ourselves after knowing that one ft is equivalent to 30.48cm! muahahaha.. we happily gloated at mr. ng n yesh, gal power!!!

Situation 2
another is a common thing happening among all of us i think. these days, me n bro think that our parents are really being quite unreasonable in certain manner. well, no doubt we are getting older n having mind of our own. yet, they still treat like us like we are still young kiddos. the fact that they kept wanting us to do "smthg" (as in supposedly very beneficial or worthy stuff) 24-7 can be really tiring n exhausting! when my bro is back for his hols, they will go, "so what u gonna do tmr?" it's like yea, we just wanna take a break from everything n bum at home. for my parents, laying ur butt whole day at home is a no no thing to do. haihz= now my bro is not so keen on coming back that often edi. and i'll be even more bored! =S
for me, same thing as well, gotta work n not stay at home n slack. it's like i hv been working since the last day of stpm! i just want a break like what the rest are enjoying. they will go, "u're just influenced by ur friends!" grrrr...... and yea, once again i'm back at work!
i do understand that what they installed and think for us is really for our own good n future. but sometimes i think they need to put themselves in our shoes too. all those nagging can be real depressing n mood-spoiler! but of coz we are still grateful for our parents n love them as much as ever. just that, we ain't lovin the pressure they giving us now.
forgive n forget.. tmr will always be a better day! =)
